S Type electric seat problem

Hi,
We are having problems with my old Dads old S Type - it's a 2007 model - basically the drivers electric seat will not go up or down - you can feel it trying but won't go anywhere - also usually when you put the key in or take it out the seat moves forwards / backwards however it won't do this either - all other seat functions are working normally.

If anyone can offer some advice it would be very much appreciated.

Hi, have same problem on my s type I just purchased I watched this video on you tube today which shows how to fix the problem and seems self explanatory not searched for parts as yet but when I do I'll post a link if I find them or perhaps you will if you find them first!?

Seat in and out on the S-Type was an excellent idea.

I had a problem with my first S-Type when a small coin fell down between the seat squab and centre console and got jammed in the threaded screw mechanism, and then no seat adjustment worked. Sorted once the wayward coin had been extracted.

Pity the in/out movement was not carried over to the XF..I miss it.
