2015 XF 3.0L s/c AWD
Discussion
I took my car in to the dealer and was given a 2015 XF 3.0L s/c AWD as a courtesy car.
I have to say, I was extremely impressed.
My normal car is a 2012 XK 5.0L which I very much enjoy driving, and it really does look the business, especially in the colour we got it - a very nice red.
This XF had the 3.0L S/C engine making 340 HP vs my car's 385 but it was very useable due to the way the AWD system put down the power. It seemed almost idiotproof. It was equipped with stop start which worked extremely well with temperatures of around 5 Celsius.
The Meridian Stereo worked superbly, the sound quality was great. The supercharger has a muted sound, it it very nice, suggests performance but is not obtrusive.
The driving position and controls weight were similar to my XK, i.e pretty much perfect. The seats were just as comfortable.
It left a very favourable impression and I'd recommend it to anyone. A truly superb car that drives amazingly well in winter conditions.

I think that the only XF model with AWD in the UK is the XFR-S, which is disappointing. Maybe the option now available with the F Type will be come available across a wider range of Jaguar cars.

Never heard that the XFR-S can be available in AWD, are you sure about that?R.
I thought it is available only for the 3 liters engine for XF and XJ

An AWD 3.0S/C does sound quite winter friendly though. Our R-S is full of lovely warming comforts but it's very skittish on cold roads. We haven't taken it out on snow or ice - it would be straight in to a ditch. All the gadgetry just means you would slide off the road with a clear windscreen, warm bum and back and warm hands. 20" wheels don't really lend themselves to winter tyre shod snow use either, and the throttle mapping is just too aggressive.
I hate diesels, so the AWD 3.0S/C makes a lot of sense
