X100 XK8 v X150 XK gearbox compatibility?

Does anyone know if there are any differences in the 6 speed gearbox of an X100 XK8 and that fitted in the X150 with the same 4.2 engine? I have an X100 and it has a torque converter issue for which the most economical solution is probably to swap the gearbox. I have found a couple of boxes from low mileage X150s available at decent price but not sure if they are a straight swap event though they are the same basic part.

Any knowledge welcomed!

I'm not sure regarding if it is the same gearbox,
even if the same that doesn't mean the electronics are the same

I've fitted a six speed Manual gearbox, transformes the car

I know they are essentially the same box, just not sure about any small changes that might stop a newer one working.

Love the idea of a manual but I can't get the man maths to work.

It isn't normally the man maths that's the problem, its explaining the SWMBO maths that tends to be the issue.
The man maths equation can be solved by applying the NAJS rules.

Talking to a couple of people today it does look like the electronics could be an issue - I can't get confirmation that they will work so think it will be an older box than I had found, but one which is definitely compatible with my car. No point getting a great value box if it costs lots to fit and then replace with another.

That's quite simple to equate ManMaths to SWMBO maths

£1,000 is infact only £100
The same rule applies to £10,000 (that's still only £100)

Good one! My other alternative is just to get another XK8, but I like the one I have.

I know the problem. I've had my X300 for over 18 years, but she's recently been damaged (long sad story ) and will cost more to put right than she's worth. Add that to the list of stuff that I knew needed dealing sooner or later (head lining, stero,...) and I'm left wit a major dilemma. While SWMBO thinks I need an attack of the NFJS, I mean just because I promised to sell one when I bought the most recent one.
