XKR 3 piece mesh grill on XK8

Hi,
Hopefully someone can help me with my problem, I've searched high and low for a definitive answer but no luck.

I've brought a second hand Jaguar XKR 3 piece mesh grill to fit on my 1998 XK8 but it has no fitting instructions with it. I've read different instructions on the internet ranging from removing the nosecone to fit or fitting with the nosecone held in place. I have instructions to remove the nosecone but need to know if this is necessary before beginning the job?

I've even read that part of the nosecone has to be cut to fit the grill? If this is the case I'll be selling the grill on as I don't want to damage the original parts. Can anyone help?

Remove the nose cone, remove the over riders and chrome straker, fit the grill via the fir tree bungs, you refit the over riders at the same time, refit the bumper..... No need to cut the bumper but you are suppose to fit some covers where the straker use to go through the over riders, easy job done it many times, hardest bit is removing the bumper

Many thanks for that info. Just one last question, Do I need to remove the battery before I start? I've read that I might trigger air bag sensors as I remove the nose cone?

Thats a matter for you but you will need your radio code and reset your windows.....

I have never bothered and never had a problem
