Some may know me from the Aston forum and having to sell my beloved V12V to free up funds to assist my daughters house purchase and renovation.
To tide me over I got an XF which actually turned out to be one of the best saloons I've owned. Fabulous faultless car, but not a sports car.
I then went on to a new XKR. Again faultless and genuinely I loved it, but as it was an ageing model it was always going to be a stop gap before getting back in an AM.
A year down the line I found myself in the fortunate position where I could now consider getting back into AM, but then, as I reported on a separate thread I was loaned an F Type R coupe.
Smitten.
I've done some serious soul searching, and come to realise that whilst the V12V is undoubtedly a fabulous car, and I could have returned to a low mileage example, or a DBS, frankly the Jaguar for me is perfect.
Sooooo, I have completely surprised myself and collected my new beauty this morning and loving it.
Unlike another posters experience the dealership in Sidcup was fantastic, wired my dash cam foc, handed over the car with embarrassing ceremony. Unasked for freebies, follow up texts to ensure all well. Full tank. Fantastic experience.
I too enquired about a 'black pack' and was initially told it could be fitted, foc as a sweetener. After a bit of research it turns out that even though it is £395 factory fitted, retro it is closer to £2,000 so Tim got a good deal. A small error by the sales guy but I certainly wasn't going to force the issue as it was a genuine mistake. My car is fine as it is.
I promise I will post pics, but the weather is dull and I want to go tomorrow to a location that justifies the car.
My earlier doubts after driving it and listening to the psychotic sound of the exhaust have disappeared.
This car is sensual, beautiful and totally mental.
I love it.
As a taster, before pics, it's Rhodium silver. Pan roof, carbon wheels, well, you get the idea!!

Thanks to all for the lovely positive comments.
I too had thoughts re silver as most seem to lean towards red or white (both lovely) , but there was something about the silver black contrast that drew me.
The dealer said it was the only one he had sold in this combination.
Hey ho, each to their own. At the end of the day I love it.
I will try for a decent pic when the car is clean and sun shining, meanwhile I'm just going to enjoy driving it. It's what its meant for. Confess I am not looking forward to winter and icy roads.

How do you find the driving dynamics compared to the Aston? I'm finding that my V8S can be very relaxed and comfortable, but when in Sport/Dynamic mode can be driven very hard, comparing well with my previous experience of Cerbera's, a 911 Turbo, and a GTR. It's my favorite sports car so far and I haven't a clue what I might replace it with eventually.

I've just taken delivery of a new V6S Coupe in white. Grabbed a cancelled order so paid deposit Friday and collected it Monday. Very nice.
I bought it after test driving the 'R' which was fantastic. However I couldn't buy the 'R' due to the performance seats in it! :-(
If you're over 6ft then there's a good chance that the built-in headrest will rub on the top vertibrae of your spine. It's the same with all the performance seats that are on the F-Types. After an hour driving the car I was really suffering.
So, I had to buy a V6S with standard seats. Daft eh?
When Jaguar release an 'R' with seats that suit tall people I'll be part-x'ing the V6S....... come on Jaguar!

I have only played with the Dynamic set up a little, and can see there is a lot to learn to gain confidence. I did the P.D.C in the V12V, and that made me much more comfortable with both the car and my own abilities.
I would like to do a similar course in the V8R.
For every day use the standard set up is superb, with the occasional venture into Sport mode, just to increase the grin factor.
After a week, I am not feeling any negatives, even when pushing on, there have been no hidden surprises.
Absolutely no regrets, it is a superb machine, and beautiful from every angle.

I did email him a while back, but got no response. Have fun with your new car and I think it's fantastic what you have done for your daughter, Mark x
