There isn't a lot that goes wrong with these cars, but I would check the rear wheel arches for corrosion and the rear boot lid lip.

The tyres for it should be the Dunlop SP2000 225/55 R16s, SO MUCH better than the Pirellis from a vibration perspective - and grip VERY well.

If you get axle tramp in 1st and 2nd then you need the rear damper bushes changed.

My advice is that when you buy the car, treat it to a full service including the spark plugs. Many dealers change 8 plugs, not the full 12, so check their work like a hawk. This is because there is an awful lot of kit crammed into the vee of the V12.

I have always thought these are phenomenal cars. If I didn't do 20K p.a. I'd seriously consider one. Out of interest, (if you don't mind me asking) what kind of £££ are you looking at for a 93 model??

I've got the 6.0 V12 in my XJR-S.
It's an amazing engine and has never missed a beat.
(does drink like a fish though )

Thanks for your replies.I came home in the Daimler on Thursday,it drives like new.No rust ANYWHERE !!!
Small marks on the drivers seat and arm rest, otherwise as new.71k on the clock with full history, although specialist since 1999.The auto is fine although not used sport mode much yet, done 250 miles, computer says 21.4 to the gallon, amazing.I shall have it serviced, are there any specialists in the Eastbourne area?????Will be using it for the winter while the Tiv is having a rest !!!!
Cheers !!!

Since I last posted around a year ago,the Daimler has covered 9k miles and has averaged 17.9 mpg, which I am very happy with. There have been no problems at all!! Serviced in Jan this year by Sussex Jag,costed at £250,and again at MOT cost £250 ish including a/c regas. Also a pair of front Pirellis at around £225 including tracking.Classic Insurance cost £200 for 10k miles. Well Happy !!!!
Cheers
