I have read a lot of threads, and hope someone can give me a bit more guidance.
I have an intermittent fault on my 07 S Type 2.7D with regards to the rear parking sensors.
Sometimes they work, but most of the time they don’t. Up until today, a continuous beep meant ‘not working’, and silence (assuming nothing was behind) meant ‘working’
Whilst the unit is emitting a long beep (but with nothing behind), I have put the car in reverse, and all 4 sensors make the same clicking sound.
I have disconnected the module, and re connected, with no change / improvement.
Today whilst reversing, there was no noise, up until now, no noise has meant that they are working, but this time it didn’t, I reversed into the kids basket ball post, but no damage done!
I am starting to think that it may be the module itself, or possibly a loose connection to a sensor, but I am guessing that all the sensor connections are behind the bumper, so it would be a bumper off job?
A module is about £60 on e-bay, so a lot cheaper than a garage repair even if it doesn't work.
Anyone able to offer any suggestions based on their own experience?

In that case, if all 4 are clicking then yes, I'd try a replacement module.
Mine don't presently work either but I know it's a sensor. I have a new sensor here but I need to paint it first but have packed all my paint away for the next month. I don't really need/use them but it just irritates me when things don't work properly!

Anyone got any instructions as to how the back bumber comes off so I can check the connections? I am assuming that there are a few bolds, and then you have to pull it off, the sides being held on with clips?

Car been to main dealer for some work, and they diagnose the parking sensor fault as rear right sensor.
Anyone know the part number for the sensor, and instructions on how to remove the rear bumper (I assume a few bolts, and then pull hard in certain places?) so I can do the repair.
Seems a better idea than paying them £235, which I guess is a £30 sensor and a couple of hours labour?

Mine's got the same issue, except I can locate only 1 clicking sensor, so I am assuming it is that one. The Jag electrician who came out said the problem (or not as the case maybe) is that Jaguars are by-in-large well put together, so there are bolts holding it on around the usual places, but also some extra bolts around the top of then wheel-arches (so you have to take out all the boot trim) to get to them. The purpose of these is to hold the bumper close all the way to the wheel-arch fyi.
The owners club I'm on suggests that you can reach all the sensors and even change them if you take the nearest rear light out and have small enough hands, luckily I have dainty girlie hands so I'm going to give this a whirl
Apart from the possibility of having spade hands I'm not sure how good the visibility down there using this method will be for you in terms of reviewing the state of the sensors etc.

I did a bit of research, and as you suggest, I removed the rear light cluster, and after a bit of fiddling (easier next time now I know how the sensor fits in / comes out!),removed the faulty sensor to get the correct part number etc.
Just to warn you, you would be able to reach the centre ones through the light cluster, but you would need to break through the Polystyrene moulding within the bumper to get to it. Probably easier than removing the bumper, but does it form some sort of crumple zone protection?

My sensor and paint arrived today, already painted it (3 coats inc clear coat, 3 x 30 seconds, 30 min apart, think Jag MD included drying time in quotation!), so ready for installation at the weekend.

Sensor all fitted and working.
It was the right centre sensor, so not accecible through the light fitting due to the Polystyrene moulding between the body and the bumper.
Managed to find some bumper removal instructions for a pre 05 which were close enough to tell me where all the bolts were.
I managed to just undo the right hand side and move the bumper forward enough to get me hand behind the Polystyrene moulding, which is the route the wiring takes from the main loom.
Quite straight forward, took me about 1 1/2 hours.

I have the same isssue as you John, but only since I replaced the non clicking sensor. How did Jag diagnose a sensor issue, as you say that all yours clicked?
Piquet, your theory about sound waves is good, but what do you mean about the paper on the sensor? What paper?

My car had been to the local Jag garage for cam belt and gear box oil change and they advised me then, I assume they had a computer plugged in?
The sensors are cheap, about £20 each from memory, but if you are doing just one sensor, then the paint will cost you similar money, but still a lot cheaper than paying someone to do it, and plenty of paint left for other jobs?

Hi John, I've replaced the non ticking sensor but now, what was a non working system has become an intermittantly working system. It mostly just beeps for ages as if it's sensing something, but on rare occasions it will work correctly?
If a diag computer can actually tell what the problem is, I'll have to visit a decent indy as I'm not keen on paying Jaguar silly money for a diagnosis.
