Hi all,

As above I've just bought 2006 Jaguar XJ TDVi, 1 owner from new, red leather and lots of wood and I absolutely love it! It's coming up to 97000 miles so know its due for a cambelt soon. Any recommendations around the Surrey area?? I live in Ockley and work near Leatherhead so any suggestions around there would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you can bear a drive into Croydon I would thoroughly recommend the Surrey Jag Centre. They really know their stuff and have looked after my XJ8 for the past three years.

Cheers for that. Just spoke to XJ Motor Services in Chertsey and left a message for Surrey Jag. See what they come back with. I know it needs rear lower wishbone bushes but I really don't want the expense of replacing the complete wishbone when I know the bushes are available now.

mchoody,

I live near Leatherhead and run an S-Type. There is an independent in Leatherhead, see here:

http://www.moonwhizz.co.uk/

I have not used them nor do I know anyone who has but you could give them a call.

There's also Winspeed in NW Guildford and also TL Jaguar a bit further out. Both are highly recommended by people that have used them and they both are regularly featured in Jaguar World.

I always get my S-Type serviced at HA Fox Guildford.

Try WINSPEED motorsport in Guildford, they also have modern technicians there who regularly deal with XJ-D

Mchoody,

How are you getting on with your Jag? I'm looking at an XJ Sovereign/ Exec, similar age but around 80,000 miles. Wanting cream leather, sat nav and cd player in the front. I took an Exec for a spin a few months ago and it was stunning (currently got a BMW 320d Touring), I didn't buy as the ex-girlfriend at the time didn't like it!! Madness if you ask me.

Also heard many good things about Winspeed, although not used them personally.

Bit further out, but I had good experiences with Arun.

I'm loving it so far but I am throwing quite a chunk of money at it just now! I have left it with the guys over at TL Jaguar to go through everything. Although a lot of money this should.....give me a couple of years of relatively pain free motoring (I hope!!) If you are looking to buy one give me a shout and I'll let you know what to look out for.

My XJ 2.7 TDVi s just 10 years old with only 30 k on clock.

Should I have a cambelt change at this time ?

I'd strongly suspect so, its 10 years or 105,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

Failing that, just risk it a tad longer and worry about the £3k repair bill when you get it!
