Try www.autotrader.co.uk which also carries all the adverts from Top Marques. You should find a suitable car on there. Top choice by the way.

You are clearly a man of impeccable taste...... Go for the V8 though, despite the external similarities they are completely different cars. Apart from the huge performance advantage, the V8's have far better interior design and quality, possibly the best this side of a new Bentley Continental GT (?) They are IMO very colour-combination sensitive, stick with black or BRG, with dark walnut. Very best of luck.

I used to check out these websites

www.chilternltd.co.uk

www.wyn-thomas.co.uk

www.kingsroadgarage.co.uk

www.elitecarsales.co.uk

Sometimes they had one or two.

I've got one of the early straight 6's and it's tremendous. Make sure you buy an auto if you are doing a lot of city driving as the clutch/gearbox on the manual are a bit hard to live with, but they do make it a faster car! Fuel consumption is better on the 6 cylinder cars as well.

I'm thinking about changing it for a newer model in the next few months and I've been looking at the following dealers online,

www.wyn-thomas.co.uk
www.taskerandlacy.co.uk
Luxton Jaguar have some good stuff too but I can't remember their web address think it's one of the autoexposure ones!

good luck

The Welsh chappie mentioned above, looks after my old girl. He may seem expensive, but his stock is always very good, I get seriously tempted to add to the stable every time I visit .

His partner Mike Ferrarie runs the work shop, and knows a thing or two about Jags.

I wish I had bought an older XJR instead of an r reg XJ8. I have always wanted one, and will end up with one at some stage. From what I can gather they are fantastic all rounders. The XJ8 was very nice, but slightly lacking on grunt as it was a 3.2........

Still get an itch when I see one even though I am very happy with my 5 series.....Not a jag though is it...

Lovely car. For me though, I would get a sorted V8 XJR. That’s what I wanted after a short time of straight six XJR ownership.

The grass is always greener, etc.

However, the interior quality of my previous Jag absolutely pisses on that of my TVR. I suppose the difference of about £15,000 odd in the mid 90’s has something to do with it.
Shaun.
