I,ve just bought an XKR conv and have just read the recent threads regarding reliability.

I must admit I was nervouse about taking the plunge because of this fact.

However I have only owned it since Friday and am mightily impressed with the quality of ride etc having been use to MB and the like....BUT I have already had a relatively small problem or so I hope.

The car is a 2001 Y and the everytime I pull the door handle the window edges down but doesn't go back up when the door is closed....Infact if I then open the door again it edges down still further until its completely open.

I have reset the windows and everything seems fine until the next day when I experience the same problem all over again.

Can any of you chaps throw any light on this for me...It may help me sleep and allow me to enjoy the car for what it is.

Thanks

lee

The windows are meant to do that It's because they are frameless. If they did not do that then they would not seal properly. I recommend reading the handbook!

OK, just read your post more carefully. They should obviously go back up when the door closes. Take it to a dealer/mechanic and have it looked at.

Battery condition is paramount for the correct operation of many systems on these cars.Although it may seem perfectly healthy, even a small drop in voltage can cause some modules to loose memory settings.

I have heard of this problem before, but haven't a clue what causes it. You are not alone........ (cue sounds from Close Encounters....)

Me too! No problems yet ...where is that piece of wood!...without doubt the best car I have ever owned.

But thanks to P/H's, if there is a problem, I feel better prepared for it!
