Help - bought wrong 'phone!
Discussion
Hi all,
I recently bought a 1998 XJR-8 with a factory fitted 'phone kit - but as with most second hand cars it was minus the actual 'phone.
So after a bit of research I was certain that the 'phon erequired was a Motorola Startac 130 - the specific Jaguar one with the logo etc. So I bought one of these off Ebay for far too much money.
Now I am trying to plug the thing in and the holder seems completely wrong for it. The plug is the right size but doesn't fit because of a small circular plug within the main plug which the handset doesn't have.
Anybody got any ideas 'cos I really want to use the phone properly!
Cheers,
Iain

The phone that was missing from your car was a Motorola 8700.I have one in my XK8, I just leave it in the car, as they are pretty useless as a mobile, but it works ok in the car. They take the credit card size sim or a small sim with an adaptor.See the link below.
