Is there no where to just general chat about the Jag.??
It always seems like the only forums are Bad news etc and nothing about what people are doing to their cars for their own pleasure.

Just a thought.

The question.

Are the internals of both KXR and XK8 the same?? I know the periferals are different (infectors etc) but the pistons and rods etc.
In general if you were to add more BHP to the xk8 whould it take it?>?

Hi Banny,

Were not always moaning on the Jag forum. In fact I don't think I ever have
Just to prove it, here's a thread I started about improving handling on my XJR-S. www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=85&h=&t=111633

I notice you're in sunny Manchester too. Where abouts? I'm just outside of Rochdale.

I also know a very good Jaguar specialist if you ever need one.

I'm afraid I can't give you any help with your question, you might want to try looking on the racing green website, they have quite a lot of upgrades on there if I remember correctly.

Happy motoring!

Bob.

It wasn’t a go at anyone just a shame there isn’t more of a std vBulletin type set up that breaks down the topics in to categories like a few other car forums.
www.mx6.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=28 for example.

I am in Swinton not too far away and am defiantly interested in any info on local Jaguar specialists.

Struggling to get wheels that look right and with the Jag fitment at the moment.
Looks are the first area for money (might put a bit in to an induction set-up and exhaust) but I want her to look right first.

Cheers

Dave

Check out the Arden section of the Racing Green website.
www.racecar.co.uk/arden/
Some nice upgrades to be had there.

I can't praise my mechanic highly enough, he's looked after my cars for about the last five years. I'd probably be bankrupt and taking the bus if it wasn't for him!
One things for sure, he'll save you a fortune over the dealers, even if you're only having a service done.

Here's his details:
Stephen Heywood Auto Engineers, Green Grove Mill, Dye House Lane, Rochdale. Tel: 01706 719111

I like the look of the bbs milan especially in the oyster colour (to go with BRG car)

only 18" though and fancy 19's or 20's although i know it will be a comprimise on ride quality.

comments guys??

I've got 18s on my XK8 (Flute pattern). Any bigger than that and you'd need bigger discs as they look a bit small as it is with 18s! Also the ride is "firm" with 18s and CATS, 19s and 20s might be a bit bad.

I've just upgraded from standard 18's to Detroit 20's on my XKR and I actually think the ride is better. OK it's a little firmer but all in all a better ride IMHO.
Yes the brakes do look small but they will be upgraded next.
