jaguar xkr tramlines badly
Discussion
I have a 2000w xkr that tramlines really badly on certain road surfaces.I have new bridgestone 285 35 19 so2 tyres on the rear and continental sport2 255 45 19 on the front. Please can anybody make any curable suggestions as the tramlining is quite alarming at times and you feel you are going to shoot of the road, anybody any advice on tyre pressures to reduce the tramlining or any other suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thankyou

Hi,
I have Pirelli all round on my 1999 XKR. 285/30/20 asimmetricos rear and 255/35/20 Directionales front. And can say that I experience no tramlining to speak of. No real help I know but,
I would suggest having a laser geometry alignment check done. I had one done 2 days ago after fitting my 20" wheels and although it was only out by a very small amount it has made a lot of difference.
Sorry can't help with 19" wheel pressures. Standard 18's is 2 bar front and 2.2 bar rear which is a pretty standard pressure set for any tyre. If you want more rubber on the road reduce it slightly, if not (which if you are tramlining bad you don't) then increase your pressure slightly.
I would see if you have uneven wear on your tyres to, maybe on the inside of the tyre, this can also cause your problem, which again is do to wheel alignment.
