It doesn't seem to be what they normally do but KWE might be able to help.

Lobbing the engine in is easy. The electrics are the hard part, and the bit thats still giving me issues with putting one in an XJ6 S1.

Recently saw an article in a mag where a XJC had the XJR engine etc so it's definately possible. Think it may have been in Practical Performance Car. Let us know how you get on if you go this route as the parts are cheap as chips with XJR6's going for peanuts at the moment.

nything can be done, ive seen an E type with a 6cyl S/C lump in it and a very nice MkII with the V8 S/C installed. Wouldnt like to imagine the work or cost involved though. Why not just buy a 6 litre XJr-S instead?

WinSpeed of Guildford could certainly undertake this conversion. Give them a call on 01483 537706 or enquiries@winspeedmotorsport.com

Yes it can be done as others have stated the electrics are difficult.
I completed it to my 1992 xjs, had to change gearbox to a j gate style and install an item called compushift to marry the motor to the gear box
All electrics are Motec m85 unit I believe
Car gives a solid 420hp

You can try Kevin at Designcats Andover, he has done a full 4.2 SC V8 transplant, into an older Jag.

Did you keep the GM4L80E box?

That must be fabulous, my XJR-S easily coped with 333bhp (neutered through the 3 speeder of course) and I'm sure it can cope with 420bhp.

I am quite literally on my way to pick up a 1995 XJS coupe with the 4.0. I am in possession of a xjr6 with a great 5 speed that I had planned on putting into another Jag project. I would really appreciate speaking with someone who has "been there done that". Are you open to discuss sometime? Tell what to do not do or not at all lol?
