XJR rev limit of 2800rpm
Discussion
I have an 1995 XJR 4ltr & it has just started to give me a problem. The enging will not rev beyond 2800rpm, it just stumbles & misfires whether stationary or on the move. It starts & runs perfectly below this level however. Have you experienced anything like this before? Can anybody help.

Revs are always limited when the car is stationary (at least they are on newer Jag's, never tried on an X300). Can't remember to what rpm, not alot though.
When the car is on the move, does it change gear (assuming it is an auto), or is it stuck in one gear?
Get to an independant and get faults read from the engine ecu and hopefully all will become clear(er).

Thanks for the feedback.
Yes it changes down & runs perfectly below this level but the gearbox warning light comes on when you persist with the full power.

Don't know why the gearbox light would come on then go off again. Best thing I think is to get to an independent and get faults read from the engine & Transmission ECU's and see what thats stored.
