XJ6 Buying Advice

I'm thinking of changing my car (Mondeo) for something a little more interesting. For some unknown reason I have stumbled upon a rather nice looking XJ6 3.2 Executive. It looks stunningly beautiful in Carnival Red with Oatmeal leather and the spec sounds fantastic.

However, at the price (7K) it all seems to good to be true. Which probably means it is!!!

I have never considered a car like this before, hence I know nothing about them. Any advice would be gratefully received.

o Is there anything specific I need to look out for?

o Any horror stories I should know about?

o Running costs?

o Reliability?

Completely with you on that one!

For 7K you'll get a great XJ6, but you're on the financial cusp of buying one the newer V8 XJ8s, which have a more modern dash, more powerful engines and aluminium bodies.

I'm thinking of buying a 98/99 XJ8 3.2 myself - does seem like an awful lot of car for the money!

It's a great car. I had an XJ6 for a couple days while my XJ8 was in for a service. The interior of XJ8 was much nicer. Definetly try and get an XJ8 if you can.
