XK8 Air Intake Upgrade?

Is it worth it (£80 odd), does it make any practical or audible difference, where's the best place to get one this side of the pond (i.e. other than

I bought the one from jaguarxp.com, as it is much cheaper than buying from a UK specialist and is basically the same (K+N, rubber tube and aluminium heat shield). I mainly got it to increase the noise, it adds some nice induction noise over the top of the soundtrack from the Racing Green exhaust...) You can hear the whine of the supercharger more without the silencing of the factory airbox, depends if you consider that a positive or negative - I quite like it! I don't imagine it adds anything to the power output, as you'll now be sucking in hot air, whereas the factory airbox has a cold air feed from the wheelarch. I would recommend it just for the sound though.....

I got mine off of ebay £66 delivered, no heat shield but I can make one of those easy. Does sound nice and is supposed to give a 16bhp power increase, but like has been said seeing as the air is hotter it's probably about the same. I also have a heat resistant tube to feed into the wheel arch and direct cold air into the filter but haven't fitted it yet.

I can only go from my experience with my mazda V6. I had a cold air intake (induction kit fitted) It went down through the engine bay and down to the lower part of the engine bay for cold air off the road.

The induction noise was an added bonus to the extra few horses. (included a bored out throttle body) too.

I think the V8 needs a bit more roar and will looking in to some sort of cold air set up soon enough.
