I've just seen a mint 1999 T reg XKR with 38k on the clock, single owner, full service, standard wheels, no sat nav, no parking sensors and a price below £23k.

Drives fine, but is there anything I should examine more closely?

As Goodlife says, have him have the blow back test at a dealer to check the Nikasil linings in the engine bore! And get the results, not just have him say its passed, speak to the dealer, as they can pass it even though the wear is close to being screwed!!!

Below 20 litres/minute is fine
20-40 not so good
above 40 will soon be new engine time
