Dear All,

Fancy getting one of these but budget cannont stretch to post nikasil engine problem. Can I buy a 97-98 with less than 100,000 on the clock and have confidence the engine won't go bang? Having read various different boards it seems that statistically not that many engines blow up, but purchasing out of warranty, possibly privately,is presumbly a calculated risk? Does for instance a warranty from AA cover this issue if it happens?

.....or can I just get a pre V8 engine car and not have to worry? - are they particularly different?

Thanks

Tom

I have an XJR V8 (1997) that's had a nikasil problem but has had a brand new engine dropped in (which will not have that problem) car's done 58k miles, 3k on the new engine. Most have been sorted too I think. I have absolutely no problems with mine and don't forsee any either.

Make me an offer I can't refuse and it's yours
