XKR Manual Gearbox
Discussion
Some may remember the conversion we carried out some time ago to an XK8, well after a good few months we look to have the issues we encountered with the XKR sorted.
Today was the very first (short) test drive of a customers XKR with a full manual gearbox working with all the standard Jaguar electronics. All original diagnostics and systems functioning.
Further tests are to be carried out and a few other bits and pieces before the electronics are signed off as done but it looks like all the hard work is done.
An even shorter clip of the test can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhpwhXo5hIM

I'm looking into having bell housings made and a clutch to take the power.many thanks.
More or less sorted but didn't go to far untill I knew the Black Box was going to work

That's exciting, how long before the conversion is priced up and available
I'm in the process of having a flywheel made and purpose made bell housingA couple of other items to get sorted then sould be in a position to give a firm price
One question, what year and model is your car
Looks like mine will now be on the road in March
A web site is now up and running www.xkrt.co.uk (XKR Transmissions) although untill there are some pictures not much to show

Sad news
I will not be getting the Black Box until next week
So not the time to get the gearbox, peddle assembly and electronics in and tested before coming up to Growler IX
On a good note though as the BB has taken so long to I'm now on the Mark 2 version (maybe 3 or 4) of the Transmission assembly
Will be even better with a 6 Speed gearbox still able to take the power even for my car and still with the correct gear ratios
( this is a new gearbox, only came available last month, a lot stronger but a also a lot smoother gear change)
Although the gearbox is a lot more expensive I won't have the costs of a lot of the modifications so the final price shouldn't be a lot more
Got a bit of homework to do before I have the revised costing's, should have that in a few weeks time
As an aside
I'm now an official agent for Tremec
So I can sell any gearboxes in their range
What with that and being able to sell direct for the Quaife Diff's things are looking good
