Spent £800 on various bits and bobs (bushes, belts, aircon re-gas, MOT and service) in one year during which I covered 10,000 miles.
Additional to above - 4 tyres @ £165 each.
Fuel - 14 to 18 mpg on 10 mile run to/from work. 20 to 23 mpg on long runs (with sensible right foot). Very rarely sensible, so 14 to 18 mpg most regular fuel consumption.
Big, comfy and swift. Can be expensive if running on a tight budget. I was well known at local petrol station (I think I paid for the owners holiday).

Well I just got quoted £2300 TPFT for this:
CLICK
So am no considering this as a replacement to the Tomcat later in the year
Can they be run for less than £1200 a year?

Unfortunately, the seller in the Autotrader ad doesn't seem to quite know what it is he or she is trying to sell, a 4.2 V8 XJR or a 4 litre straight 6 - there's a world of difference!
In answer to your question, 'yes' if:
- you don't get it serviced
- have to put new tyres on
- don't go near a bodyshop
- it has manifolds that aren't cracked
- it doesn't require new brakes
- and so on...
They're great cars but can be a bottomless pit into which you shovel money if they go wrong.
The drop down boxes on the sales site did not let me choose any model other than V8's. If I did not choose a model, I could not proceed to the next step in the advert placing process.
That is why I had to put the engine type in the description. It has caused problems.
I hate seeing mistakes such as this in adverts. I have seen TVR Chimaeras advertised as having ABS and airbags.
