The battery is flat, so flat that the central locking solenoids won't activate, I can get into the doors with the key, but the boot release either internally of on the key fob won't activate, so I can't get to charge the battery. The only option I can think of is to get the cigerette lighter adapter for an accumate and go in that way, however I don't know if the lighter socket is live when the ignition is off and guess what I can't check because the batteries flat.

Has anyone any ideas how either get into the boot manually or does anyone know if the lighter socket is always live?

OK OK

I phoned the dealer and explained the problem and got told

"Don't worry sir your not the first and I dare say you won't be the last, its a fairly simple solution, you put your key in the the key hole on the boot and turn it, you should then find your boot will pop open"

At this point I thought the sarky twat what is he on about I haven't got a bloody key hole in my boot, that's the problem, I only open it from inside on the button or on the keyfob.

"Yes sir have a close look at the XK8 badge and if you look closely in the middle, you'll see a little hole, that's a key hole"

Well bugger me I never knew that was there, thanks alot bye.

On an X150 the keyhole is behind the rear number plate so you have to remove that first.
