I dissassembled my Clubsport steering rack recently to fit some steering lock restrictors, only to find some galling on the ball joint surface where it bears in the end housing - too much preload on the joint perhaps.

Anyhow, I'd like to replace the ball joints and housings (one of each at each end of the rack).

Does anyone know where I could source these parts?

The ball diameter is 20mm and the thread is 3/8" UNF - I think.

They are a Renault part. Not sure about availability in the UK, but they are available in The Colonies from Pegasus Auto Racing:

Check the thread, as there is a Metric part and a standard (3/8-24 UNF and 12mmx1.25). I can't recall which I ordered.

Thanks Matt - great lead!

I'm pretty sure the swivel joint threads must be 3/8-24 UNF - definitely not 12mm (I'm just being lazy really - it's an easy check with a thread gauge smile).

Anyone here in Blighty know which Renault model they're from? It might save me a long searching conversation with the folks at EuroCarParts or the local Renault dealer Part's Dept.
