Could those of you who have/had this operational (in a manner of speaking!) on a Prosport/Clubbie tell me how it is (supposed to be) operated/activated please?

Presumably, it's intended to be operable by the driver in the strapped in position, so what switch on/around the dash is used to operate it? I'm assuming some sort of push and hold button rather like the starter button? Also, as it's in reality simply an electric motor, it doesn't matter if the engine is running or not?

Cheers

Yep exactly right a push/hold starter button to the right of the radical dash on my old clubbie. Runs on leecie with the engine on or off.

Where are you going with this one Trevor?

Is this leading to “Well, we all know that the Club/Prosport reversing system is a good idea, badly executed, but there is a cost-effective solution in the shape of a kit that company XYZ produces”?

If so, am I being too optimistic in then predicting that hoards of otherwise track-worthy Clubsports and Prosports can be dragged from the lock-ups within which they are languishing, to come of age and take part in some fully MSA-compliant motorsport?

wink

Trevor - sorry to hijack your topic.

Now that is interesting Bert! scratchchin

The Lynx site now specifically lists a kit for the ZZR1100 in a Radical (amongst others).

Has anyone fitted one to a Clubsport? does it work well?

No prob, in RF terms that's certainly not a hijack - yep, it can definitely be done with a Kwack - Tim P had it/did it to his - we asked him for photos but I can't remember whether he ever got round to posting them up before he sold it. New owner has since sold - did a PX with Rad I think, so perhaps they'll take pics and post 'em up if they've still got it? rofl

Further questions to follow-up on The IBBRM, which should perhaps be forthwith referred to as The Politician following JPI's description of cause and lack of effect ..................... "Makes alot of noise and not alot else"

As promised (or is it threatened), further question(s) on The Politician

As the collar to which it is fitted just gets pushed round by the ball bearings when they reach it (rather than the ball bearings going up the ramp) clearly this adjuster needs surprise, surprise, adjusting >

How should it be adjusted?

Afterall, if I'm going to be going ball bearing chasing, I want them to be flung the correct distance hehe

As I recall (someone please correct me) if the thing just goes round without pushing the balls out, you just need to slacken the lock nut off, nip up the grub screw so it grips the bit inside and retighten the lock nut. I found that every few races I had to do that on mine when testing the reverse system.
