1st trackday in SR4
Discussion
Why didn't i do it sooner!
Great day out with my 20yr old son(Marcus)in new toy at Silverstone on sunday.
Perfect weather, with light rain in the morning then drying out to try out the slicks - another world.
Really impressed with it , even in the wet. Not a handful at all, like i thought it might be, so long as you 'feather'
the throttle out of corners if wet. Car didn't miss a beat all day, so impressed. Thanks to everyone for their tips on what
to precheck/take, did like the magnetic kitchen countdown timer to help not staying out too long!
Looking forward to this coming sunday on GP circuit with Goldtrack again, got Nigel Greensall all day to train up my lad and sort out ALL my rusty bits and bad habits, should be fun. Apart from the usual nut and bolting, chain tensioning, cleaning, what else should i be doing between trackdays? Do i change oil every 2 events, or what? Do i stick to factory brake pads(are they carbon ceramic)? would appreciate any advise. Also , where should i take the car if something breaks or for setting up, preferably not too far from the midlands area(i'm Leicester based).
Thanks all,
Steve

Told Yer
Seriously though, told you the rest, but obviously and understandably it didn't all sink in; hardly surprising given your rate of buy, sort and use, in fact a remarkable amount did seem to stick; good for you two guys!
Give me a ring on the mobile from about 11.00am Steve and I'll be happy to remind you!
And just wait until you get that rear diffuser undertray on?

At this rate of TD'ing, mainly recovering, trying to catch your breath and figuring the way down from ?Seriously though, told you the rest, but obviously and understandably it didn't all sink in; hardly surprising given your rate of buy, sort and use, in fact a remarkable amount did seem to stick; good for you two guys!

Can't imagine it being any better, so looking forward to having that rear diffuser fitted one day,( just managed to 'hold onto' a 300hp Duratec SR3 last sunday, it was pulling away out of the corners but tended to reel back in under braking and cornering -just!
Never used a sequential gearbox before, absolutely amazed how slick and easy they are, hopefully Marcus will have sorted the heel n toe technique after sundays session with Nigel.
Call you later Trev

Bought the pr6 new 2009 and raced in radical cup that year against the sr8"s cos we had a 1585cc with paddles shift.
Very very effectively indeed as well it has to be said Tony, congrats on last year and even more recently, the lovely little one.Every year it just keeps getting better!
