HANS in an SR4
Discussion
Hi all,
Has anyone on here used a Hans device in an SR4 ? I am coming up for a new harness and thought it's probably worth the extra money of trying to get Hans compatible one and the device.
I have the seat positioned as far back as it will go, if that makes any difference. Would the harness mounting points need to be moved ?
Thanks,
James

Not sure if this is helpfull but......I used a Hans in my SR4 with standard belts. I truly can't remember if there is scope to move, change the mounting points on the SR4
When I moved to the PR6 I ordered the Hans comaptible ( narrower ) belts and they fit better on the Hans device.
However there is one consideration, and this was pointed out by an eagle eyed scrutineer and that is if you fit the narrower belts you MUST use them only with Hans...ie you cannot go out without the Hans around your neck. Clearly if you have the wider belts you can go with/without your Hans should you wish.
The likelihood of this being picked up may be small but..........

Yes.
As a starting point I've got both 20 and 30 degree models and find the 30 degree more suitable.
My seating position sounds close to yours and whilst I generally have found the standard shoulder mounts okay they ideally need to be brought about 30mm close to give a text book installation.
Radical offer brackets with chassis / soulder mounting offsets to get around this on the SR3 - It may be my winter project to make similar for my SR4.

Once you have decided on angle, you may want to buy a set of these:

They seem to work very well as I used to struggle with the belts slipping off of my shoulders with the Clubsport.
Once I fitted the clips, I had no problems
