What cleaners do all you UK Radicalists use to clean and polish your bodywork? I have a white SR3 and cannot get those pesky black rubber marks off the front!

Any recommendations ?

Thanks

Surely you just do a full 2-day detail of your P&J after every outing! I use a standard "tar remover" from halfrauds to remove tyre marks.

Also...
2-bucket wash with sheepskin mits
Decontaminate the paint to remove organic and non-organic residue
Clar-bar to further remove contaminants
Machine polish
Seal with polymer sealer
Finish with two coats of Carnauba wax.

Well maybe not!

Like BertBert says, tar remover does a good job, quick and very effective - I happen to use Auto Glym, but I guess they're all much the same.

An absorbent cloth dampened with White Spirit will also do it as a second-best, if you happen to have run out.

I find the colour enriched/matched polishes from such as Turtle Wax do a good job of putting a bit of protection back on and help disguise any little surface scratches especially on a dark bodied car.

what Simon said...

I also find pledge polish is really handy - both in taking black marks and general grime off.. and also giving it a bit of a.... Polish !! but quicker/easier than 'proper' polish..

JIZER is actually better than brake cleaner at getting the rubber marks off. Lasts a bit longer than Brake cleaner but is also a bit smelly...
