Can anyone help me with the torque settings for Clubsport diff mounting?

The eight bolts (four each side) which bolt into the threaded aluminium - don't want to do these up too tight

Thanks as always for the help on here

we just nip them up tight by hand with a standard length spanner. there should be no need to over tighten them.

... cos if you do, you'll warp the washers and, more seriously, distort the mounting plates around the slotted holes.

I wasn't happy with this arrangement so have replaced the eight plain washers with four 2mm thick steel plates, each with a 5/16" hole at each end. The plates are installed in place of the washers and are arranged horizontally, each picking up two of the diff bolts. The idea is to be able to fully tighten the bolts without distorting the mounting plates. Seems to work smile

PS Look carefully as sometimes the Nm equivalent is given in ftlb, other times in inlb!!!!

I'm sure there was no offence meant on your part Bert, and certainly none taken on mine (it's sometimes difficult to see when a writer has his tongue in his cheek wink).

This year hasn't been the best for me, with too many demands on time and funds, but I'm now very much hoping to make it out on track next year, unless of course Lord Montague takes a shine to what must now be the best preserved Clubsport on the planet!
