SR3 for sale - anybody familiar with it?
Discussion
Hi all,
My name is Dane and I'm from not-so-sunny Melbourne, Australia. I'm looking into SR3's at the moment, and am test driving one with Radical Australia next week. While looking for Australian cars, the strength of our dollar at the moment combined with the range of cars on offer in the UK has me looking across the pond for cars in your neck of the woods too.
I'm wondering if anybody is familiar with this car? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2112966.htm
Seems to have the right history and spec, but any further info would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Dane

Hi Dane
Have you tried asking Mark Sutterby about the car - http://www.mansolmotorsport.co.uk/index.cms - he lives in that area of the world and has good knowledge of Radicals.

Thanks for the quick responses and suggestions guys, very much appreciated! It's a slightly daunting proces when looking at cars, especially race cars, from another country. All the information and history that I can get my hands on is invaluable.
Nick: I'll shoot an email through to Mansol and see if they know anything of the car, or indeed have any cars for sale themselves. Who knows, perhaps they may be interested in brokering a deal on a car they know or have in stock.
It's a great looking car, and the spec seems to be right. I'm also enquring with Radical about the Gulf Blue SR3 which I believe was owned by someone on these forums, but this is a good amount cheaper.
Cheers,
Dane
EDIT: Car looks to have been sold!

How many have you got these days, sounds like there's a new arrival in the family...Bert
Dane - have you tried ringing Mark, some time back I had some dealings with him and phone was a better approach than mail. If you cross his palm with silver I bet he'd do an inspection for you if you find a car you like the look of.

Fortunately, I am managing to keep the number of radicals I own down to one (unlike some other marques chez Bert)! It's very good indeed though.
Bert
Yes, I see that you have a thing for the Germans, old and new - lovely cars. So does that mean that Miss BertBert gets to use her new race licence on your shiny new toy?Bert

Another vote for Mansol . I've bought 2 Radicals from Mark S. both "unseen" and I wasn't disappointed when they arrived. I'm sure you'll get the same service

I have spoken to Mark at Mansol over the telephone on more than one occasion and he has been nothing but helpful and informative, good luck in finding the right Radical.

Hi Gordon
A big welcome to PHRF!
Your experience/locality should be a great help for Dane: I love your 'just up the road'; looks about the same relationship as London to Ipswich, only about 500 miles by road rather than 80 miles?
I agree that Radical Australia would be by far the easiest logistically, but don't forget that Gulf Blue Job is at Radical itself in Peterborough (it's a beaut, know the owner, know the car) ....... and no-one knows Radicals better than the home team/the designers/the makers. Likewise Mark S @ Mansol (similarly Trev G @ Tranzpower etc) are longstanding trusted partners of Radical GB and still servicing runners in Radical's Race Series over here; it's much more intimate and closer proximity here; if the likes of Mark or Trev etc screw up, we would all know about it in double quick time: Us guys in Rads are very joined up!
You guys should join ROC ............ t'is true that most of us are based over here in Radical Homeland ........... but you won't be the first Oz based Members. ROC stands for RadicalOwnersClub , so working out the website should be pretty easy?
Trev
PS Glad to see you're now holding the title ......... that was me in '97!
