I find filling the tank on my SR3 takes a long time with a lot of flow/spit back if you try to fill to fast from the pump.
Does anyone else find this and is there a cure.
Thanks David.

Mine is the same but as we only use it for track days we put up with it ! I guess the answer is to get the air out of the tank faster or as fast as the fuel goes in. Maybe a modified vent is the answer. Ours is am early SR3 I doubt if the later cars suffer from this. Anyone out there have the answer to this ?

As we never fill up at pumps (always via jerries filled at pumps) can't be sure, but I'm not sure the latest cars are any better in this respect - with our 2010 SR3 RS, we have to take it gingerly/slowly (avoiding putting the funnel right in and completely filling the orifice) to avoid it coming/welling back out - like Vic says, not really an issue if you're doing it once in a while and at your own pace at a trackday/race meeting. Sounds like you're doing it at a PFS with lots of people drumming their fingers?

I think the issue is basically about it being a race car i.e. a fairly basic filling/venting system and a foam filled tank with only a small drop to it.

They are capable of being filled rapidly using a racing fuel churn/dump, but I think this piece of kit has a nozzle/inlet system design that ensures that what is being poured in has a balanced opportunity for venting.

The solution may be just to not pull the trigger too hard? ......... a case of the snail beating the hare? Take your time ....... you won't annoy people anymore than I do when I do a nearly empty to completely full fill of a bit over 90 litres in the tow car .......... let/make the beggars wait, it'll do them good hehe

David, In response to your email re brake pads (sorry I seem to have lost your email on my pc) We have Wilwood calipers and use performance friction pads. I think the fronts are endurance spec (perfect for trackdays) For further info talk to Mark at Saxon Motorsport on 01580 720845 he spanners our car for us. Rgds Vic S

Yeah you're right splitpin, the race cars have a seperate vent with a valve on it.
They use a dry break system, wherby you align the dump churn up with the filler, and push it on to release the fuel, however the fuel won't drop at any pace until you engage the vent pipe.
