Farringdon Digi Steering Wheel Set-Up
Discussion
Earlier question on Gear Indicator got me thinking about setting my own Farringdon Digi Dash up.
Anyone help me with the data values to enter for setting up the gear indicator?
I'm assuming that different values need to be entered depending upon which gearing I'm running.
Someone out there must have the values?

In case it's any help, here are screenshots of the relevant data for my R1 engined, Digidash equipped, Speads.
As you can see (if you click on the thmbnail a couple of times)final drive ratios (to say nothing of tyre circumferences and a load of other stuff) need to be entered. I presume it is much the same for your system.

Hi Geoff - are you using the Farringdon Steering wheel on the Clubsport?
If so - does the main dash connecting cable have a 9 pin (3x3)
or 15 pin (5x3) connector?
I bought a used Steering wheel and datalogger to fit onto the Clubsport but
the connectors are different.
I guess I could change the connector but the Farringdon has 11 pins in use
whereas the Clubsport only has 9!
Time to study the wiring diagram!

Hi Tim
It's on Superlight's SR4 which I have a bit of prior knowledge of - no dash as such fitted to the car, just the wheel display and data logger box fitted around the area of the steering rack. The connection to the wheel is via a light weight push in connector, the wiring of which is under a screw on component that is used in the medical industry for connecting up things like heart rate monitors, quite an intricate connector very different to automotive connections. Not sure about the connection back to the logger itself.
I found this link quite useful in working out which logger was fitted to the car
http://www.farringdoninstruments.co.uk/documents/S... there's more documentation available there for using the system too.
Hope that helps a little.

As per above - the connection between the dash and steering wheel is a very small circular(about 7mm diameter)connector - which has five pin connectors of which I think only 3 are used.
I think the main data processing takes place in the "Black Box" which takes input from all the sensors and then outputs to the wheel mounted display.

Thanks chaps,
Spoke to Farringdon and they suggested that Radical had produced a converter plug for this set up.
Simon at Radical parts kindly scoured the factory and managed to find one. Excellent customer service!

Sorry we didn't manage to meet up again on Saturday ........... I was going to pick your brains about that reverse gear you had fitted.

Hi - I believe there are two versions - did you get just the wheel or did you also get the controller as well?
The wheel only contains the display - its of little use without the controller.
Also try

ah sorry.. i have the swis10 computer.. i found a pin diagram before i bought it but now that i have it i cant seem to find it anywhere! it has a 15 pin plug.. 11 of which are occupied and each pin surround seems to have a semi circle pointing in random directions as if to deter people from plugging it into any normal interface.
thanks guys
