SR3RS - how different to my old SR3?
Discussion
Well Done That Man. The fruits of perseverence!
The aero has come on a long way in the last 7 years, especially the RS. so I think you'll find it astonishingly planted by comparison. Likewise, the paddleshift is the dog's whatsits nowadays.
Sounds like Mark White's car - such a delightful chap - so it'll be a totally genuine works run car - he's moving up to a carbon bodied SR8; saw it in build in the factory on Saturday.

Hi Andrew, The new spec car is much stiffer than the old one, you notice will this in the high speed corners, it just feels sharper. The aero is much more effective as well, you need to spend some time working on the set up otherwise its easy to pile on the wing and dive planes to give you good grip at the cost of straight line speed. Re designed cockpit cowling greatly reduces wind buffeting - it a much comfier place to sit now.
If you have Wilwood brakes on your old car by far the biggest difference you will notice is the brakes, HiSpec 280mm floating set up is stunning!
If you need any help, drop me a mail

I remember you and Danny in your then new SR3s at Folembrey in 2003, never did get a passenger ride but.....yesterday I finally got to drive an SR3RS at Brands Hatch with one of Radicals try before you buy days, totally awsome cornering and braking and for someone whos spent 6 years in a high powered Caterham quite a change to get more front end grip the faster you go!
Was talking to Jamie @ Radical and he said they were delivering your car to you sortly, sure you'll enjoy it
cheers,
Mike

Very dangerous...he sold me mine last week. He is actually quite good at the car selling game. It's very refreshing to deal with somone who can actually sell and not leave you feeling the need to check you still have all your fingers!Bert
If it weren't for the need to sell my Caterham first he would have had a sale from me too. My mate who came along is interested in an Ultima GTR (720bhp!!) or SR3 and was impressed with the cornering and braking of the SR3 RS but reckoned it needed more power so wants an SR8. He's never been on any circuit before but still managed to spin coming onto the straight at Brands Hatch on his second solo lap, lol he was certainly trying!
My other mates just sold his Caterham R500D top gear clone and now wants me to go halves on a new SR3 RS for trackdays, just need to sell the R550D first

I know that referring elsewhere on PH is prob bad form, but I liked this...
