electric reverse system for porsportþ
Discussion
Do you really need the reverse? After trying it out once, it was the first thing to come off mine.
I certainly would advise against using it in almost any circumstances, unless you enjoy scouring the ground looking for ball bearings
There has been several posts about this in the past. If you search the forum you may find an answer.
I assume you have already contacted "R" ?
You could replace the Diff with the later reversing type, but I suspect they are not cheap and the last SR4 owner I spoke to wasn't exactly impressed by its operation either again choosing never to use it. Just get out and push.
If you actually need it for MSA racing rules etc. then you have a problem which perhaps someone on here might be able to help.

I'm sorry to say that you will struggle. There are no spares available, so unless you can find someone who can fabricate the parts, it's not going to happen. It's a shocking piece of design. I had someone fabricate a retaining plate instead of a spring. It didn't last 20 minutes. I think you'll need to explore alternative reversers.
Sorry.

Sorry.

Is that right BertBert? Reason for asking/querying is that end of Feb this year, Scott Hughes said that Radical had all parts in stock and could supply.Radical make cars to compete in circuit racing, hillclimbs and sprints and as I read the Regs, it has always been the case that all of them require bike-engined cars to have a reversing arrangement capable of moving a car the not exactly demanding requirement of 3 metres backwards with one wheel able to tackle and overcome a 40mm block. Sounds to me that the subject parts (like ball bearings and spring clips) should cost relative pence and owners shouldn't have to be scratching around here and there trying to find these sorts of very simple parts. Let's hope they do and can still supply these parts to their Customers, because as I see it, they should.

Also Douglas at Westgarage.co.uk has measured up my Clubsport and now reckons there is room and he could modify the diff to use his system in the unlikely event I ever feel the need for the extra weight.
I should say I still have the complete motor and assembly in my garage having eventually found all the ball bearings in Doug's drive.

I gave up with the Radical reverse and fitted the reverse motor and gear from Lynx AE (http://www.lynxae.co.uk/Products-Bikesports.htm)
Jon at Lynx was really helpful - I had to fabricate a mounting plate and spacers to fit the motor but the rest was simple and it works a treat !
I will try and take some photos of the installation and post them on here.
Good luck

ASAP please Tim; now have more than just a geekish passing interest in this; OE appears to be fit for skip as standard, either gone AWOL or on the cusp of doing so whatever it's condition (and I have better things to do than chase ball bearings around the paddock/the garage/the driveway)Good luck

Splitpin is right I spoke to Simon in parts and he supplied a new spring clip, balls, front plate with hole's, and ramp clutch assembly, they have a whole new motor! I stripped mine down and fitted all the new parts and it sort of worked... but as Martyn writes I think one key thing is the clutch adjustment... and setting the distance from the drive nut (also new) on the engine... this should be about 1-1.5mm ish from memory.

Who is Simon?Do i need to buy all the parts you listed above?
do you have the prices of the new spares parts?

On this occasion, I am very pleased to be proven wrong regarding the availability of spare parts!
Mind you doesn't look like I'll be needed clubsport reverser parts in the future
