Im running an early ZZR1200 powered Radical SR4 for track days.

Does any one know if the driveshafts are lifted from a production car, and if so what?

Also, where can I get a good deal on brake pads.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You should find all you need on Rob C's site http://www.mtcracing.co.uk/page209.asp

As you will infer from Rob's site, the CVs are standard Ford.

However, the drive shafts are specials, either "Cut and Shut" joined by a tube in the middle, or complete special "unbreakable" solid ones made to order at the special length and correct spines on each end.

There are several respected makers of "unbreakable" shafts or of course 'R' can supply them at a mark up.

Actually I have just checked the R price on the website and the mark up may not be all that great, getting bespoke solid shafts made is not cheap!

The joined type can be made quite cheaply, but are in theory more prone to failure but "touch wood" my car still has the original 12 year old ones and the worst time for them is standing starts and that is basically all I do in the Hillclimbs and Sprints......

Thanks for all the info. Its only the CV's that have a little play on my car, so getting the Fiesta units and rebuilding them is going to be easy.

Just be careful with those kirbs.
In my experience new shafts don't last longer than 20 mins at race pace. Certainly not in 2007 cars anyway. (Radical or ford parts) I believe later cars featured ducts to try and cool the CVs down.
I'd take your old ones with you, and be prepared to fit them. (just in case)
