In the wet I get three problems with seeing where I am going:
1 The visor doesn't clear on the outside. I put rainex on and it made no difference at all. Is it possible to cock-up the application of rainex? If anyone can, I can!
2 Visor steaming up. I have one of those motorcycle neoprene thingies to stop me breathing(!). I still steam up. Anti-fog seems useless (same "cock-up" comment as above).
3 Glasses steaming up. My neoprene thingy seems to funnel steamy air up past my glasses.
4 Fear. My eyes are tied to my sphincter. When my eyes involuntarily close...
Anyone solved any of 1-3 above?
Thanks
Bert

std polish on the outside of the visor will help stream water off if - or even Mr Sheen !!
on the inside to stop steaming, try fairy liquid - on a dry cloth, and rub into it util it dissapears.. this works very well..
if you need a bit of ventilation into the helmet/visor area just tape a small bit of tape between where the visor and helmet lip meet - just enough to let a small amount of air flow through - its easy & quick to do - and if you leave a tag of tank tape holding it on the front - you can remove again when racing should you wish...

Hi Bert
If I shout loud will you see better....... I too wear glasses for distance.
My experience is -
1. Leave a reasonable gap at the bottom of the visor BUT keep your head down so that rain doesn't blow in on to your specs....this is only at slow speed.
2.Use a clear visor to let in more light
3. Use sunglasses for inbetween weather ( mine are polarised and show wet even better )
4.On the straights/high speed, turn your head extreme right or left....this will blow water off the visor.
5"nose guards" in the helmet...in my biking days we actually taped these onto our face ( after you've put the helmet on ) to give a seal ( why do I feel already some smart arse comments coming on that one ! )
6. Not recomended for safety purposes but if a real problem have a cloth in the car to use just before you start.
8 Check all the vents on your helmet are open. The Arai GP 5W has wider aperture ( easier on specs ) and more vents because its intended for tin tops...
9. Keep your eyes closed until you hear ( you ) sceaming, squealing tyres, or mashing fibreglass...or asudden halt occurs...
Cheers

Fairy does indeed work very well; used to use it both sides before Rainex came along.if you need a bit of ventilation into the helmet/visor area just tape a small bit of tape between where the visor and helmet lip meet - just enough to let a small amount of air flow through - its easy & quick to do - and if you leave a tag of tank tape holding it on the front - you can remove again when racing should you wish...
Secure partial and then shut is a good feature of the Peltors we use; they have stepless locking device that seems to hold as much gap as you like even at high speed which can easily be pushed to enable full closure; likewise, being aimed at cars rather than bikes, they have a good size aperture that might suit the spectacle user.
