I'm coming up to my 30th birth day and wanted to hire something interesting to drive for the weakened there are a couple of cars that I have all ways faced having a go in and the SR3 is one of them. Does any body hire out SR3 for use on the road?

im pretty sure the answer is no, put it this way, if you had the fastest thing on 4 wheels that can't get over a speed bump, and is a fully fledged race car with number plates would you lend it out to people with little or no racing experience to drive on the public highway? the only car i know of that you can hire that will give you the kind of thrill your after is a caterham. (and of course why would you want to hire a radical and not take it to a track were you can actually use it?)

As said above, unlikely. Like other bike-engined racing cars that truly come alive on a track, Radicals don't have stuff like airbags, abs, traction control etc i.e. the stuff that can be rather useful for less than entirely familiar hands on the road surrounded by it's many totally incompetent drivers.

You should treat yourself to a day out on track in a two seater Radical, complete with Pro to show you the ropes and then passenger you.

On the second day, you can recover and replay every astonishing second in your mind as you celebrate. That'd be one birthday you'll never forget.

ROC has a database of Rad + Pro types: Contact Founder Will there; you'll find his details in the Radical Owners Club thread.

Have a Great 30th Birthday & Make It Memorable! It's all downhill from there Mate!

I would go further and suggest if you are indeed enfeebled, then a Radical is the last thing you want. Perhaps something automatic from Motability?

You should try a Radical specialist team like 360 Racing, I did and got bitten. The team pro will show you just what the car can really do.

A good idea to check a poster's profile prior to replying?

Years and years ago, I used to watch a guy called Archie Scott-Brown with one arm punt a racing car around with great aplomb and equal success, quite often first - indeed, there's a Suite @ Snett named after him. Difficulties in certain areas are often more than compensated for with prodigious talent in others.

I'm sure all us Radical Blokes will warmly welcome Blake as and when he gets his nether regions in to a Rad. Agree Team?

I take it Splitpin hasn't actually read the title of this this thread? (profile or not)

Did actually Angus.

Had a giggle when I read it 'cold', was about to pop one but luckily I read the OP's profile and thought nope, nice helpful guy, he deserves better and in the circumstances it would be a very cheap and offensive shot.

Well I'm with Splitpin on this one. It's quite embarrassing when one has unwittingly and even in jest had a pop at someone's spelling to then find out they are dyslexic and autistic.

hi,

I understand that a Radical is a very competent and speedy machine. I have however driven a number of BEC over the years both on and off the track, not a Radical granted but other LMP styled cars 7's and others. My daily diver has no traction control, ABS, Servo Assistance or other nannying devices. While my daily transport and toy cars are a long way short or a Radical I do understand what I am asking for in terms of performance, handling and lumpy ride. I just fancy taking something like a Radical out for the weakened on the road and enjoying the experience of driving something so well 'radical' on the road well with in my and the car limits. From time to time you see owners pictures of owners who have taken there cars out on the road they are all with out exception graining ear to ear and look like school boys or girls and it is that experience that I would like to capture.

If there is no such thing as a Radical for hire for this then that is a shame. I will keep looking for something else that I fancy driving.

Blake

PS I'm not sure if people are having a go at my spelling, grammar or other. However if you are or would like to make a point, you need to quote what I have wrong and explain how I have it wrong, because I can not see the mistake its just a quirk of how my mind works diffidently to yours.

PPS One of the fue thing that I find hard with about PH is that I do not come across well through the written word.

Spell checker is available to all I believe, disability or not.

Why don't all you 'don't mention the elephant in the corner' types lend him your Radical?

The bloke has a disability, get over yourselves. I'm sure the OP neither wants nor expects any special treatment, stop being so patronising. rolleyes

Hi Blake

What's going on is that you inadvertantly spelled weekend (ie the two days that follow Friday) as weakened (ie made less strong) which has led one to make unkind (some, like me, would say really stupid and deliberately offensive - 'automatic' and 'motability', what a pr*ck) comments; while another went off on some weird 'let's talk about me' tangent about seeing a racing driver in the 1950's who triumphed over a physical disability, and almost everyone else did their 'does he take sugar?' thing and talked like you weren't even in the room.

Bloody hell! I'm so embarrased.

thanks for that, I have re-read my post a number of time looking for other meanings. This is a problem that I have with spell checkers is that they dont tell you the context that the word should be used in. So I simply correct the word to something that looks right to me.

Good to see you in the room Blake.

Other than the usual cobblers bit (like ‘let’s talk about me’ - why on earth would we want to when we can spend all our time talking about, reading about and looking at pics, videos of him and the rear end of his Radical hehe) that's a damn fine post from Count Johnny Spinoza clap

Can you lend him your spellchecker?; it's apparent that his is on the blink.

Doubt it'll be on your birthday (like I said, have a great one) but if you fancy a passenger ride in the SR3 RS around say Silverstone GP sometime soon (either way it'll be quicker than waiting for the offer of one in CJS's Radical hehe), ping me an email so we can arrange something.
