In Car Camera - How Cool Are These!
Discussion
Following on from dunc sx's response to mabbotts question about in car cameras, I bought some of the keyfob video cameras that dunc mentions and slapped one on the wing centre mount on the Speads, yesterday.
The original quality is, actually, really high (reduced from 7 to 1.6 meg for You Tube's benefit) and the image is only narrow because I mounted the camera vertically (if you get my meaning) and had to flip it so you don't all get a crick in your neck.
At risk of prompting an on forum driving lesson, here's a quick clip:

Unfortunately, 'Left Hand Tip of Front Splitter Cam' went on the missing list when I rattled the kerbs at Surtees - but it was olny a tenner (plus a tenner for the micro SD card) so it's not the end of the world.

Oh that's alright then?Where did it go? Any potential issues for the drivers who might have met it (under wheels or in the face) halfway round a corner?
Makes you wonder where the TDO was looking when this stuff was being taped on and falling off cars?

Details on this thread, they are about £10-15. Light and cheap and cheerful.

Interestingly, the MSV "camera form" is an indemnity against any damage or injury resulting from one's use of a camera.
You also agree to pay MSV 25 big ones if your material gets broadcast (on youtube for example)!!!

When your three gramme rubberised piece of plastic causes carnage if it accidentally falls off - as it surely will - you won't have a leg to stand on.
And to cap it all, JP (him with all the circuits and helicopters) will come along and single you out for special treatment when he catches you posting some footage on You Tube.
Other video hosting sites are available.
Obviously, it's regrettable when anything falls off a racing car (only twenty quids worth or not) but, as anyone will tell you, I take great pride in my car being carefully prepared to a very high standard (with a emphasis on safety) and it's not like it was my third spring that went bouncing down the road. It was a three gramme piece of rubberised plastic FFS.
Nevertheless, I'd like to thank Splitpin for his sage advice and for saving us all from ourselves.

It actually forbids any broadcast (on the internet). Well doesn't forbid it just says you agree to give MSV 25k if it gets broadcast!I left many much bigger bits of stuff from my car at Snett. Fortunately, all were off the track!
