Sorry to ask such a basic question, but how do I test to make sure the alternator is working on Clubsport Kawa1100?

I've measured the voltage across the battery terminals with the engine running (briefly up to 6k), but the reading is the same as the engine stopped. Do I conclude that the alternator is not working or should I be doing something else?

Thanks in advance,

David.

I think there is a fuse in the alternator circuit on the Clubsport 1100.
Check on the left side of the engine bulkhead at the starter solenoid.

When the engine is running, the volts across the battery terminals should be 13 to 14 volts, a fully charged battery should read 12.6 ish volts (engine off), if the volts across the battery terminals is 12.6 or less, it isn't charging.

As your volts are staying the same when you rev it, then it isn't working. It is usually either the fuse blown or the relay playing up.
