Today not so stupid SR3 question

The winter project is nearly there, got it started today.
One of the things wrong with it that i had forgotten about is the dash, it does it's little dance when you power it up, then i have the numbers 142 and the red light in both the water temp and oil temp parts of the dash any idea is this the dash or the sensors on the engine, i have pulled the wire of the oil temp and the dash goes blank so does that point to the sensor, if it is any idea what they are from and where to buy them...

Yes, normally tells you the wire has fallen off the sensor.

try earthing the sender wire the oil light should come on if they all light up the whole dash is earthing through 1 sender check the earth to the dash board
