Hello Guys.. I have a guy interested/has made an offer on my car, but he is about 6ft 6" and is not sure if he would fit, is there anyone here about that tall who has driven a club/prosport? would he fit?

So long as that's height, not width, all will be fine... You could probably fabricate different seat mounts to get it right against the bulkhead if desired.

Sure he'd fit in but what about head height for the roll bar? Wouldn't want the head to be hitting the ground before the roll bar!

Trev, not that I'm aware of!

Although I could fit (just) in your old SR4, I had a sit in the PR6 at the autosport show and found it way too tight to feel comfortable racing in. I was told that there was about 1" for the seat to travel further back, and that the pedals could be moved forwards. My height is in my back rather than my legs (35" inside leg...). Conversely, my Caterham has loads of space, even with the pedals on their middle setting....

I would want to experiment with a moulded PU seat, perhaps with GRP edge plates to stop it cracking, prior to committing to a car.

I don't find the pedals in the rad very easy to switch between, and could see the only real option would be to go for a paddle shift and LFB everywhere!

PS, stick to bikes, there's more headroom..hehe

Whilst I'm not 6'6" I am 5'11" with wide shoulders and belly......We pushed the seat right back and the pedals forward and intially I found this claustrophobic coming from an SR4.........that feeling lasted about 2 practice sessions and I was then comfy....

Assuming the spaceframe cockpit plan of the Clubbie (likewise Prosport) is to all intents and purposes the same as it's PR6 successor, does the offset driving position of the former compared to centralised driving position of the latter improve or reduce height and/or width issues?

Fergus

I have it on good authority that someone near on 7'0" (so even loftier than you) did some regular competing in an SR3, so for sure that's what you need, complete with a paddle shift; apparently the latest one is utterly astonishing. Will & I will be finding out real soon.

Like they say, this isn't a dress rehearsal so .................

LET'S BE HAVING YOUR POSTERIOR IN A RADICAL SR3 PDQ ................... biggrin

Incidentally, if you're thinking about really pushing the boat out, in the SR3 RS, the new 1340 K8 is now surprisingly close to the old 1500 (1475) K7 RWHP-wise.

I'm 6'4" and long in the body rather than legs. I find it's difficult to get a good position as if you try to hunker down and get your head below the roll hoop your knees go up and you find your leg movement restricted. At 6'6" I would suggest you may well need to think about making up a foam seat like the single seat boys and sitting on the floor.

The above applies to a 2002 clubsport incidentally

Not sure a foam seat would do much TBH, Radical seat is 3-5mm thick and is sat on the floor, same against petrol tank cover so little to be gained...
