Hi All,

After reading the other thread on here about chain lubes et, im still a little confused about what chain it is exactly I need for a replacement on an SR4.

Looking at this site for example...can someone tell me which of the DID chains I would need.

http://www.moto-racing.co.uk/cat--DID-Performance-...

Now for some more novice questions !

Assuming the chain is sold by certain lengths..how much would I need to buy for 2 replacement chains ?

How do I know how much to use for one chain ? Is it as simple as making it the same number of links as the old one ?

Finally, what tool do I need to cut the chain and re join it ?

Your help is much appreciated as always !

Cheers,
James

Some will doubtless disagree (use lower spec and replace more often), but IMHO, as this is the one that was specifically developed by DID when their original OEM chains couldn't cope with the Busa's & ZX12's power outputs, this is the best DID one to go for >

Although it's now gone, I've got a spare chain at home and will count the links which you can compare with the count on yours; pretty sure mine won't have had any links removed.

I replaced a chain on Jonathan Thackerys SR4 at Brands using one of my PR6 chains which went straight on, that was a 74 linker.

The DID one is a 530ZVM or the Tsubaki Sigma X ring gold 74 link from B&C Express is miles easier to fit as previously mentioned.

74 links confirmed ...... and unless someone knows where to buy that particular chain 'to length', I'm struggling to see how one would make two out of one*; think the longest length I've managed to find on the internet is about 132 links .......... maybe it's a 'Buy two get one (with two loose links) free' deal at the mo?
