Discussion
"New" car now home and just booked a day at Snett....so now to get the car ready and the first of many numpty questions.
What lube is recomended for Clubsport Chain.
I was thinking Wurth as below.

Also best source of new chain and do I need a chain splitter to fit.....if so what type?
What engine oil is recomeneded?
What about Diff Oil?
Thanks in advance....!!!!!!11

I used Wurth chain lube extensively last year whilst racing with no problems, although the Silkolene Prochain would be my first choice if i was paying for it!
Changing from DID chains to Tsubaki on the PR6 made life a whole lot easier as the rivet tool is just a hit with a hammer type rather than something out of the Krypton factor, available with the setting tool from B & C Express just need someone with a clubsport to advise you the size & number of links.
Busa motor spec oil from memory without going out to the garage is a Silkolene Pro 4 15w-50 race.
Diff on the Pr6's Quaife unit is just pumped with a regular grease.

We have a strange double up on this thread, so I'm adding mine from that to this and will ask the Mods to remove the other one * >
Hi Geoff
Good to hear. Will & I are looking set to bed/learn/shakedown the new car at Snett most of this month. Should be finished in not much more than a week. What day have you booked there?
On engine oil, Radical recommend Silkolene Pro4 15W-50, which we used in the SR4 ............. never had a single engine problem.
On chain lube, Radical recommend Silkolene Titanium Gel, which we used in the SR4 ........ never had a single chain / sprocket problem. That said, I know a lot who like and use Wurth Products. I'll give you a can of STG FOC if we manage to meet up at Snett ........ got a few cans and won't be needing it for the immediately foreseeable future
(Like Darren says) no oil in the Quaife, just high temp grease; if you've got a high quality powerful grease gun, you may (or may not) manage to squeeze a little bit in.
There's a previous thread somewhere about chains and splitters, I'll try to find it later and post a link.
Regards Meantime.

I get all my fluids for my Rad from Ian Jakobs at www.fluidsinmotorsport.co.uk
if you buy in bulk well a case of all oil will give you some discount.
Has chain lube brake fluid etc etc.
Super starter Darren can brake any chain i've always used DID touch wood never had a problem with them on any of the three Rad's i've had, i try to buy as long a length of chain i can buy and sometimes can end up with two complete chain's.

Agreed with JP. Chain type is 530. Find a good bike shop and simply select the highest tensile strength one they can source for a sensible price; no more difficult than that. Avoid the ubiquituous assistant telling you that you 'need' gold plated this or purple-anodised that. I will dig out my invoice for part no. / length (it was DID Z-link), but got sufficient to make 2 chains plus spare lengths for well under a ton.
I've just used Castrol chain lubes and don't have an opinion on performance suffice to say it works. Other than that, never mix and match worn parts (bin any worn sprockets), make sure it's nicely aligned and well lubed.
Mark.
