When removing the drive shafts from the hubs i always have issues with the spring "C" clip, ends up with a large set of pullers and damage to the splines and the spring clip groove, Im concerened that should i need to change a drive shaft track side this job would be near on impossible, any tips / ideas on how to stop this from happening ?

The drive shafts on my SR3 are floating, ie they have no spring clips on either end. you need to fit a pair of rubber stops in the bottom of the CV joints then all will be OK

Thanks for the reply Simon

What do the bungs do ?, do i need 4 off ?

I have recently bought new drive shafts complete from Radical, will these have bungs fitted as standard ?

In 'unbunged' format there is enough lenghtwise play in the drive shaft when fitted to allow the tripode joint to run too close to the end of the CV joint housing. The bungs limit the lengthwise free play. If you have complete new driveshafts they should be 'prebunged'. Easiest way to check it fit 'em, if correct there should be some, but little lenghtwise play from one CV joint to the other

Drop me a mail with a contact number if you need any more help
