Hi All

Planning winter work on my car and overhauling the diff is on the list, has anyone done this themselves ?, I presume its just bearings, shafts and gears, if no gear wear i plan on just changing bearings/seals.

Comments please

Make sure you get the backlash setup correctly on the CW to Pinion otherwise you risk massively accelerated wear. Get some engineers blue and you can check the preload on the pinion (typically adjusted via a shim stack on most diffs) by looking at the marks left on the CW when the whole assembly is moved with input from the pinion.

Not sure what 'shafts' are in the diff?
