Chaps,

Probably a silly question, but here goes....my SR3 has a splitter rather than a diffuser. According to the manual front ride height should be 85mm, and splitter height should be 40mm. Potentially silly questions as follows;

Changing the ride height should be done on the spring platforms, correct?

Exactly where should the ride height be checked?

Once the ride height is set, how does one change the splitter height?

Apologies if this is very obvious, I'm just thinking about a job to be done tonight and would like to know before starting.

Cheers,

Chris

I've always taken the ride height to mean the height of the chassis from the ground with the splitter height determined by the chassis ride height. With the SR4 and a diffuser there are adjustable stays to the corners of the diffuser that allow some variation in the splitter height, not sure if the splitter works in the same way, it's mounter to the front bodywork isn't it?

Just checked the Radical website and the owners manual tells you where to measure this front and back http://www.radicalsportscars.com/uploads/range/dow...

Can't get my brain around the OM saying a taller ride height at front compared to back; hopefully others far more learned than me will agree that that's the last thing you need on a Radical; got to be wrong surely - for sure I'd start with level, until someone told me otherwise.

With a front bodywork fixed splitter, you can't adjust that clearance of that independently; short of packing out with shims twixt bodywork and splitter (don't - you'll demolish it and likely the bodywork the first time you kiss a kerb) the only way to adjust the front height is by playing with the front and rear ride heights, which, if you want to run lower right at the front, means (yep, you've guessed it) setting the car slightly 'arxe high' (not 'arxe low')
