Further to the email received earlier today from Amanda at Radical, it would appear that congratulations are now due to Colin Millar for winning not only the tuned class ahead of JW, but the overall Club cup championship as well clap

Cheers Darren

Jonathan must surely be gutted, but doubtless he'll be typically philosophical ("That's Racing") about it. If GK had been driving (as he normally did) and achieved the same @ Snett as TA, JW would have been RCC Champ?

And the other interesting thing (as I've noted before) is that if Mark Boot hadn't got halved points in several rounds due to a lesser number of Clubsport Entrants) he'd be Radical Club Champ by a country mile?: I make it that he'd have had a total of 214 points.

Time for Radical to tweak the text on the Snett Round.

Nonetheless, many congratulations to Colin ............ He Came, He Saw (which way the tracks went), He Conquered.

clap

Nah, not your fault (you know me well enough to know I think you're one of the good guys!) at all, was just hypothecating (meaning speculating if I've spelt the h word wrongly). Like I said to him on the day, it was a blistering drive from Tom in Race One, then the gremlins that have blighted most of POS's season returned ............. showed what could have been achieved had the car had the R Word, meaning Reliability.

PS Let's all wish Hamlet a full & speedy recovery beer

All the best for a speedy recovery H.

Hi Colin

Personally speaking, I think that what happened at Snett simply shows that the points system to operate next season needs an overhaul i.e. needs simplification, it's just too complicated. I think that if a 'non-points qualifier' manages to take pole, make the fastest lap and wins a race, that should be 22 points that don't actually get awarded at all; if in that event, 2nd place goes to a 'points qualifier; he/she should get 15 points. That said, I don't actually believe in an extra point for Pole or Fastest Lap: Like in F1, the reward for Pole should just be having everyone behind when the lights go out, ahead of the pack at the first corner if the start isn't screwed-up. A fastest lap can come from someone just being clear-air lucky, perhaps after an earlier screw-up; it can prove little in terms of a driver's overall race performance.

So now, I'll address your question. I doubt whether ANYONE on here considers you anything other than one of the Good Guys. You don't make the rules and under those rules, you're The RCC Champ. I for one again say Bloody Well Done Mate. Magnanimous in apparent defeat, fresh to the tracks and with JW's initial win, win, win form, halfway through the season, you didn't appear to have a cat in hell's chance, but boy oh boy did you come on strong.

Total Respect To You Colin bow A Proper Good Guy clap

I'm very much looking forward to next season's RCC Show and you are definitely an important part of the Star Cast. Hopefully You, JW, DL, PS, GK, TA, JPI etc etc ...... promises to be a titanic contest, especially if Radical do the right thing and direct an even more level playing field ........ whatever it's altitude!

PS Abacus seriously on the blink in the wee hours; points above now corrected; how ironic!

well done Colin - you must be over the moon lifting the overall title in your first year over there smile

Hard luck to JW - must be frustrating to have thought a championship was in the bag, no doubt you guys along with the other front runners will have a fantastic battle in 2010.....
