I am thinking of creating "Team AEL" with the addition of another Radical, budget allowing

Radical imply that the 1200 & 1300 Biduro cars are pretty evenly matched, but we felt that the 1300 has more torque and we definitely achieved faster lap times with the 1300, but it maybe that the 1200 was not set up correctly for us (We ran it with factory settings, but run JW "Special settings"on the 1300). Rachel D. certainly manages to get the maximum out of her 1200!

What do the other SR4 affectionados think?

Could be tempted to add a Prosport to the fleet instead - any advice on that?

Thanks in advance

if all else is equal (it never ever is), I think it's quite simple really; free choice go for the Busa; still effectively the current engine, much more tunable and indeed more power when not sort of restricted to 'match' the Kwacker.

BTW, while you were away trying to find space on the grid @ A, before he had problems in Race 2, James B in his Busa opened up an ever-increasing and eventually pretty big gap to Rachel D in her Kwacker. Not speculating why, just stating the fact.

But as standard, there's beggar all in it and I'd always go for the car that been properly looked after rather than whether it's got a silver or black painted motor in the back.

Of course, go for a Prosport and there's no choice to be made ........... well other than how big perhaps.

1200 kawasaki is 158BHP standard which is what the powertech engine will be (not 195BHP as suggested) standard 1300 Busa is 170bhp (not 205BHP as suggested)and more torque than the kawasaki. in BHP/tone that nearly 20bhp more which is alot.

I note that atleast powertech are consistant as the differance between the engine's even with their figure's is about 10BHP at the crank.

In summury I would personally suggest that a 1200 and 1300 would not be evenly matched?

Having owned and raced SR4's with both engines, I would certainly recommend the Hayabusa 1300cc.

Radical 'detuned' the 1300 to match that of the 1200cc, but the 1300cc, even in 'detuned' state felt a much stronger engine than the Kwaker - which are prone, in the Radical at least, to having gearbox problems.

Also, all of the 1200cc's were on FCR 41 flat side carbs, with fairly large jets (to protect the engine) - on warm days they can run very rich.

Considering the potential of tuning and availability of spares, its got to be the 1300cc.
