Although I may be a tad quick off the mark, as I assume there may be some sort of official confirmation yet to appear, I wanted to be the first to congratulate Fellow ROC Member Darren Luke on becoming Bikesports Champion this afternoon @ Snet.

Well Done Mate, Thoroughly Well Deserved & You Did It In Style (Winning to Win, not just the new Passion Wagon!)

clapclapclap

Congratulations also to Chris Enderby who looks to have made Darren work for it: Delighted to see that the combination of a K8 engine and talented hands means the beloved little SR4 is still capable of keeping the all conquering PR6 honest.

clapclap

Likewise all the Radical empowered contestants. Good Job Guys.

clap

PS And a new Lap Record in the process as well if I'm not mistaken !!!!!!!!!

Cheers Trev, its a pity that the 750 bikesports championship has been a bit of a damp squib this year. Well done to Calum in 2nd place for having driven so well all year.

It was a pretty boring race, after pulling the pin for the first four laps & securing the lap record I wanted, the car started to suffer a weird & worrying vibration with plenty of oversteer thrown in, so decided the safest course of action was to go as slowly as possible to still win, handily helped by reading the pit board of the guy in 2nd place!

Now looking forward to getting my ass kicked next saturday at the Rad club cup Snett round.............

You're most welcome Darren.

And thanks for correcting my glaring error by me not specifically mentioning Calum MacKillop; met him briefly at 750 MC Silverstone, really nice chap; you've done a great job this season Calum, so convincingly and competently upholding the honour of the venerable Clubsport. Well Done Mate.

Sounds like you've got some issues to sort out PDQ Darren ........ you will ........ see you Saturday, perhaps even Friday if you're coming down for that ............. mind you, you should already properly 'have your eye in' after today. Really looking forward to the Final Round ......... could/should be a cracker and doubtless, you'll be part of the mix, notwithstanding that 22% capacity deficit.

Not arriving till late on the Friday as I can't get away from work till mid afternoon, enjoy the track day.

I would be surprised if I am within 1.5secs a lap of the big boys time's to be honest, what with those two long straights & distinct lack of corners............ I'm hoping for rain!

well done Darren, think you'll be a bit busier at the wheel this wk end :-)

I enjoyed my first run around Snett - much more technical than it looks on TV for sure...

Well Done Darren mate.......

I will also see you at the Radical meeting on Saturday @ Snet. Think I'm guna see how my SR4 goes against the rest of the Radical Big Wigs.

Just out of interest what were the lap times you were doing and what was the time of the lap record you did?

He did a 1.07 something within a few laps of the start and then switched to cruise mode to the win. He can also produce a mean cup of tea out of the back of the new passion wagon.

Calum managed a 1.13 in his CS on old tyres, 1340 busa engined SR4 was in the 1.10 region, 1200 SR4 1.14. All times are on www.750mc.co.uk in the Racing - Bikesports - Results option.

Best I could manage was a 1.19 in a 1200 SR4, second race ever, old tyres, had a cold, tired from getting up early, had the sun in my eyes, etc... I've got the winter to reflect on finding 5 seconds to the next SR4, entries on a post card please.

Well Done Nick .......... plenty ways to go forward > Next one will be third 'grown-up' race (whereas chaps like Darren, Chris & Calum etc are perhaps approaching if not well into three figures, new tyres, no cold, stay in a cheap hotel the night before, get a tinted visor ............... I make that at least a 5 secs reduction next time out in '10 @ Snet.

Solutions to everything. I didn't put bigger balls on the list but I suspect that's 4 of the missing 5 seconds. No need for comment on how to resolve that one.

Cheers guys.

The Bikesports lap record is now set at 1.07.58, which is going to be nowhere near fast enough for this coming weekend. I wouldn't be surprised to see pole in the 1.05. something bracket, hey ho.......

Nick your balls have landed you in quite enough trouble for now! All the best for the arrival of your new nipper.

I suspect it's not only the racing season that is drawing to a close for a few months, it will be just tinkering in the garage for me for a few months I don't doubt rolleyes

Thanks to you both for the good wishes, last few weeks to go which can't go quick enough really, poor Mrs is on crutches and in quite a lot of pain. Roll on those broken nights....
