ZZR1100 parts or engine wanted
Discussion
Scott, I have three JE '1095cc' 13.5:1 pistons with only 15 minutes use if you want them.
I also have three standard pistons with 18 hours use if you want them.
See a pattern emerging above!!
I want to keep the rest of the engine for rebuild later.
I also had a surprise today and thought you might find it interesting, see the flow graph attached. I did these on the same kit so comparisons are valid, even if values are not absolute.

I see a pattern.. you are missing a piston! that may explain any problems you are having... LOL.
On a serious note.. do you also have an engine problem as you have not been out racing for a while, much like myself. WRT the piston's I already have 4 1095cc JE pistons in the engine at present which due to overheating I think may need a rebore to +2mm so will need the next size up piston kit - unless I use a new block in which case I will be in touch.
What are your plans for next year referance engine etc.. I am hopping combe adopt my class suggestion with a 1000 to 1300cc class for the GT's for next year!
WRT the graph I assume it shows that a ZZR head has much better port design?

Scott, yes had an engine problem, had a piston crack and hole in July, I thought is was due to fatigue as it was a standard piston. Had the block rebored and fitted the high compression ones, ran it in at a local kart track and then had it hole again at the next Combe meeting. Turned out it was detonation due to one of the carbs playing up, hence two sets of three pistons available. The high compression piston was a real mess!
My plans for next year are to go faster!! Will be ditching the carbs though. I am building a new engine for next year and have got some more aero parts on the way.
WRT the flow tests, I also did a flow test at full valve lift with the flat slide carbs fitted, I found they only flow enough for a standard head, they dropped the flow on a ported head considerably.
In standard forms I think the ZZR head is better, it only has 31.5mm valves compared to the 33mm Busa ones.
I take it you are sticking with the ZZR for next year?

Hi all, I have nearly got the engine out ready for a rebuild, does anyone happen to have an old crank, cams, block, and head laying around? or even a cheep whole engine maybe needing some attention?
Hi Scott, I've still got that complete ZZR1100 engine we talked about a month or so ago, for sale with or without all the ancillaries, give me a shout if you're interested. Could do with selling it and concentrating on one of my other eight projects, cheers GeoffHi Scott - just found this in the Wanted section of the classifieds:
