I'm not too sure what offsets and sizes I should be looking for, I currently only have alleycats which don't appear to have the offsets written on them. They are 6" front and 8" rear, I'd imagine an upgrade to lighter 7/9's would be a sensible step and have noticed some using 8/10's but not sure if these are an easy fit (it is a fair increase).

Probably something like the michelin 23/57 for the rear? Not sure if the 20/54 would fit on the front though?

Thanks in advance for any advice,

Dunc.

Hi Dunc

Those will be one piece four bolters?

If the guys with Clubsports can't throw any light on the topic (many will be on three piece Images that need calculating differently), I should be able to help you to work it out; it's relatively easy to measure offsets on one piecers and you can decide how much you want to/can increase front and rear track. I've got 7, 8, 9 & 10 inchers in various offsets and if you weren't up there and I'm in the middle down here, I'd say pop over and do some offering up ........... nothing like looking at it on the car!

That said, I'm inclined to think/concur that with the original 1100 engine, 7 & 9s might be optimum and 8 & 10s might be more width than it really needs ........... don't want to lose all those messages that the right wheels sends back to your hands!

Let me know!

Yeah it's 4 bolt one piece's I'm looking at, compomotive CXR looks like a nice wheel if it's suitable - not sure on the actual weight of each rim. Guess compomotive would be able to answer that question.

I've got CXRs (14No in total!), great wheels, although Comp were a bit of a pain to deal with last time I did, not so long ago. Reckon you'll (we'll) have to do the legwork optimum fit-wise ............ they're nice and light and hugely strong. I'll weigh one of my untyred 10 inchers in the next day or so and let you know.

Just so happens that there's a chance I might have some to spare shortly, but offer of assistance is not motivated by that!

Just off the phone to compomotive and the cxr weights are as follows -

7x13 - 4.9kg, 8x13 - 5.1kg, 9x13 - 5.2Kg (think I heard him right there), 10x13 - 5.65.

Would be interested in some s/h items splitpin so have a look and see what you've got smile

(It'll be interesting to see whether their weights are more accurate than their delivery estimates?) eek

With apologies that I had forgotten which ones had tyres on and which ones didn't (I wonder why!), OK here we go, this should be enough for starters, all CXRs, all valved and balanced, to nearest half kilo >

7 X 13 - with (front) tyre - 11Kg

9 X 13 - no tyre - 5.5Kg

9 X 13 - with (rear) tyre - 11.5Kg

10 X 13 - with (rear) tyre - 14Kg

I can get some other ones (including the 8s) come the weekend if required.

Just weighed my alley cats (clubsport std wheels) with tyres and balance weights removed, valves still in place.

6x13 - 6.1Kg
8x13 - 6.2Kg

Not as bad as I thought tbh, considering they are a rally style wheel. Would be interesting to know how this compares to the other options (split rims etc).

Think I'm settled on tyre sizes now, just need to confirm offsets for wider wheels - Anybody got a clubsport with wider wheels? Are prosports the same geometry (they use 7 and 9" image splitties I think)?

Thanks smile

I'm on the look-out for some extra CS wheels if anyone has any going: either 6 or 7 inch (front) and 8 or 9 inch (rear). Just email me if you have any for sale.

Cheers, Mark.

Scuse my ignorance Mark, but are you looking for four bolters?

Cheers jpivey, not the wheels I'm looking for but that engine is a bargin if it's sound smile

Think I'm sorted on what I'm after for the rear including the offset I need, the front is a bit of a mystery though. People with wider wheels on clubsports must either modify the side pods or use an offset that sets the wheel back into the body of the vehicle a fair bit?

Think the PR06 offsets are front -12 (7.5" rim) and rear -8 (10" rim), don't know how this compares to the clubsport but still struggling with the front offset. If anyone's got 7" wheels on the front of thier clubsport (or prosport) it would be really helpful to know what the offset is (including any spacers).

Cheers,

Dunc.
